Plastic / Plastic Plates
All thermoplastic materials, e.g. Acrylic glass, PMMA, ABS, PET, PS, PETG, SAN or polycarbonate can be bent by our machines.
During thermoforming or thermoforming of thermoplastic semifinished products, plates or even films, the property of the thermoplastics is utilized, which loses its strength upon heating and retains its shape after cooling.
Common methods are injection molding, vacuum thermoforming or, as with our plastic bending machines, bending or bending.
Many plastics are known under the brand names of manufacturers such as:
- Plexiglas® trademark of Evonic Röhm GmbH (acrylic glass)
- Makrolon® brand names of Bayer AG (polycarbonate)
- Lexan® brand names of Sabic Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (polycarbonate)
Not all plastics can be machined with the same machine.
In the case of acrylic glass processing, devices are used which only heat from one side. For bending polycarbonate or Macrolon®, a device that heats from both sides (IC-200) is recommended. Several edgings in one operation are possible with many plastics and enable rational processing.

Only in the case of polycarbonate is the forming temperature too high and the material also warmed too tough to bend several edges simultaneously.
